Colombia has a privileged location in the intertropical area, north of the southern cone of America, with access to two oceans (the Atlantic and Pacific) and a great diversity of thermal floors due to the three mountain ranges that span it, so it can offer different agricultural and livestock products throughout the year.
According to the FAO, the availability of water resources in Colombia is one of the highest in the world (the potential area for irrigation is that of 18.4 million hectares).
- It has two coastlines with two oceans, and ports on each of them.
- The country has 16 trade agreements that allow it to reach more than 1.5 billion consumers.
- In 2019, agricultural and agro-industrial GDP totaled USD$25.589 million, with a 9.5% share of national GDP.
